Applications for the Master of Accounting are accepted for both fall and spring admission.

Student Application Deadlines

Domestic Students:

Appiclations are accepted until two weeks prior to the start of a semester as long as capacity exists.

International Students:

Due to visa processing requirements, applications from international students are required to be submitted by the following dates:

  • Spring Semester = October 15
  • Fall Semester = June 1

International applicants should allow enough time for students to obtain their Visa and any other necessary documents. View information for international applicants.

Applications and Supporting Materials

University of Arizona Undergraduate Accounting Majors

If you are a University of Arizona student majoring in accounting, you may qualify for a requirements waiver during your application process to the MAcc program.

Criteria for Requirements Waiver:

1. The student is no more than one semester away from earning their undergraduate degree in Accounting at the University of Arizona or has earned their Accounting degree from the University of Arizona within the past 12 months AND

2. The student achieved an overall GPA of 3.2 (or higher), including courses taken at all institutions attended and an upper division accounting GPA of 3.0 (or higher) at the time the application is reviewed by the Admissions Committee.

If you meet the following criteria above, you will not need to submit the following materials:

  • GMAT Score*
  • Letters of Recommendation
  • Essays
  • Resume

PLEASE NOTE: Our application process has changed. There is now only one application for both the Graduate College and the Accounting Department which can be found here.

Qualifying applicants must submit the following materials to the Department of Accounting:

Note for UofA Applicants with the WAIVER:

  • GMAT: When filling out the online application, put N/A in the areas that ask for a GMAT score and test date .
  • Essays: You may leave the essay questions blank
  • Resume: You may leave this field blank
  • Official transcripts from any other institutions attended (the department does not need official transcripts from the University of Arizona, however, the department needs official, sealed transcripts from all other educational institutions attended since high school)

Qualifying applicants must also submit the following materials to the Graduate College:

  • Graduate College fee (This is required to submit your application)
  • Financial Guarantee (International applicants only*)

Qualifying applicants must also submit the following materials to the Office of the Registrar:

PLEASE NOTE: You only need to fill out one application for both the Accounting Department and the Graduate College.

All Other Applicants

Applicants who do not meet the waiver criteria above must submit the following materials to the Department of Accounting:

  • Graduate College Application
  • Official transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate institutions. If you attended the University of Arizona, you do not need to send your UofA official transcripts.
  • Official GMAT scores (Institution Code 4229)
    The GMAT is required for EVERYONE. You may not substitute a GRE or LSAT score. You also may not substitute work experience, credentials (CPA, etc) or any other consideration in lieu of the GMAT.

    Note: there is no minimum score requirement for the GMAT. Please review the Class Profiles to see the range of scores accepted in prior semesters.

  • Official TOEFL scores (international applicants only)
  • Two Letters of Recommendation (these can either be submitted online through the Online Application, or mailed to the department).

Qualifying applicants must also submit the following materials to the Graduate College:

  • Graduate College fee (This is required to submit your application)
  • Financial Guarantee (international applicants only)

Qualifying applicants must also submit the following materials to the Office of the Registrar:

* If you are admitted to the Master of Accounting program, the Accounting Department will forward your transcripts to the Graduate College.
